BAC Leadership Team
Driving advocacy efforts and executing mission
Brendan McKay
Co-Founder & Chief Advocacy Officer
As Co-Founder and Chief Advocacy Officer of the Broker Action Coalition (BAC), Brendan McKay champions the interests of independent mortgage professionals and their clients on Capitol Hill. He has led multiple advocacy wins including the passage of Trigger Lead legislation, creation of the largest PAC ever formed for mortgage brokers (BACPAC), enactment of expanded Disabled Veterans Tax Exemption laws in several states, and opened broker access to down payment assistance programs nationwide.
In addition to his leadership at the BAC, Brendan owns McKay Mortgage, where he consistently ranks among the Top 50 Mortgage Brokers in the country. With years of firsthand experience helping homebuyers achieve the dream of homeownership, Brendan brings a unique, ground-level understanding of the mortgage process from origination to operations which allows him to effectively bridge the gap between policymakers and the constituents they serve.
Mortgage Professional America has named Brendan McKay to its 2025 Global 100 list of the world’s most influential mortgage professionals.
Rachel Clark
Executive Director
As Executive Director, Rachel Clark brings a deep passion for advocacy and operational excellence to her role. Since the BAC’s founding, Rachel has played a pivotal role in the organization, beginning as a Texas State Captain and Co-Chair of the State Government Affairs Advocacy Council and later stepping into an operations leadership position, where she successfully drove key initiatives behind the scenes.
With more than a decade of experience in the mortgage and real estate industry, Rachel combines a strong understanding of homeowners' needs with a dedication to advancing the broker community's voice at the policy level. Her commitment to service, integrity, and family drives her work, ensuring BAC’s mission to empower brokers is met with impactful action and meaningful results.
When she’s not championing brokers, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and staying engaged with her local community.
Nick Framarini
Director of Advocacy
As Director of Advocacy, Nick Framarini is a passionate advocate for the mortgage industry, bringing a frontline broker perspective to Washington. He leads efforts to elevate the voice of independent mortgage brokers and advance policies that protect both brokers and the homebuyers they serve.
In addition to his leadership at BAC, Nick serves as Vice President at Mortgage Star. He has been recognized by Scotsman Guide as a Top Producing Mortgage Broker and Rising Star from 2022 through 2025.
Nick is also a member of Vetted VA and serves on the board of the Maryland Mortgage Bankers and Brokers Association (MMBBA), where he contributes to the legislative committee.
